Online menu recommendations
When opening your public menu (nextapos.com/menu/tu-negocio), the customer can see a recommendations pop-up: a short, ordered list of dishes that you choose. It's used to push what you care about being consumed today — the house's signature dish, a seasonal preparation or that product you want to move stock of.
The pop-up is informational: it shows photo, name, description, price and tags, and tapping a dish opens its full sheet. It doesn't charge or change the order flow.
How to set it up
Go to Productos → Menú online → Recomendados.
- Turn on the pop-up with the "Pop-up de recomendados" switch.
- Write the title and subtitle (optional). If you leave it empty, the menu uses a default title ("Lo que te recomendamos").
- Add your dishes by searching for them by name. You can choose up to 5 and reorder them with the ↑ / ↓ arrows; the first is the one the customer sees first.
- Save the changes.
The list is curated and ordered
The order in which you leave the dishes is the order of the carousel. It isn't taken from the Destacado / Nuevo / Popular tags in the POS: those remain operational, and here you explicitly choose what to publish on the menu.
Season (optional)
If you want to push something for a limited time (a summer promo, a December dish), enter a date window with Desde and Hasta:
- Within the window, the pop-up is shown.
- Outside the window, it is not shown — you don't need to turn it off by hand.
- If you leave both empty, it is shown as long as the switch is on.
- The end date must be after the start date.
What the customer sees
- Once per session: the pop-up appears on entry, can be closed, and doesn't bother again during that visit. In a new session (another tab, after closing the browser) it may appear again.
- Skipped on deep links: if the customer goes directly to a shared dish or category (
#plato-…,#categoria-…), the pop-up doesn't open so it doesn't cover what they came to see. - Tidy carousel: with more than one dish you can swipe between cards; with only one, that one is shown.
- Accessible: it closes with the X, by tapping outside, with
Escor with the "Ver el menú" button.
Visibility rules
A recommended dish only appears if it is also still published on the menu:
- It has online visibility turned on and is assigned to a menu grouping.
- It is marked as available.
- It has stock (or doesn't track stock).
If a dish runs out or you hide it from the menu, it disappears on its own from the pop-up without you having to edit it. If it was the only one, the pop-up isn't shown. In the panel, those dishes are marked with a notice so you know why they aren't showing.
Frequently asked questions
Does it cost extra or depend on the plan? No. It's available on every plan where you use the online menu.
Can I put special prices or discounts in the pop-up? For now the pop-up shows the menu price, with no promotions or coupons attached. For discounts use Cupones.
Does it show on computer and phone? Yes. On phones it appears as a sheet from the bottom; on large screens, as a centered card.
What happens if I delete a dish that was recommended? It is removed from the recommendations list on its own. No broken reference is left behind.
Can I have different recommendations depending on the day or time? Today you can only limit by dates (season). To change by time slot, edit the list manually.
