Module: Mesas
Tables are the physical points of sale in the venue. Each one works as an open tab: orders keep being added to it until the customer asks for the bill.
Table = persistent cart
Unlike the POS (where the cart is paid immediately), a table accumulates orders. You can add items to the same order or create several open orders on the same table.
When you charge, all the open orders on that table are grouped into a single invoice.
Mostrador, the virtual table
Every account has a special table called Mostrador. Characteristics:
- It is created automatically when the business is created.
- It cannot be deleted (if you delete it, it is recreated).
- The POS uses it for quick sales that don't go to a physical table: takeout, counter, take-away.
- It works like any other table — it's just always available.
Zonas
Tables can be grouped into zones (Salón, Terraza, Barra, VIP). The zone is purely visual — it groups the cards in the grid so the team can find the table quickly.
Visual status
| Status | How it looks |
|---|---|
| Libre | Light card, no total. |
| Ocupada | Card in the brand color, total visible. |
Transfers
A table can be transferred to another:
- Useful when customers change tables.
- Or when someone ordered at Mostrador and then sits down (you transfer from Mostrador to Mesa 3).
- Or when someone ordered at a table and leaves with takeout (you transfer from Mesa 3 to Mostrador).
Open orders move to the destination table with their items intact.
Table notes
Each table can carry one short note (up to 500 characters) about the people sitting there: an allergy, a birthday, a seating preference. It is visible to everyone who can open Mesas, and tables that have one show a small note icon in the grid.
The note belongs to the party, not to the table: it is cleared automatically when the table is paid in full, it survives a partial payment while items remain, and it moves along when all the open orders are transferred to another table. It is internal — it never prints and never reaches the kitchen.
Dueño, Administrador, Cajero and Trabajador can add, edit and clear notes. Editing the table itself (name, zone, capacity) stays with Dueño and Administrador. See Mesas (Trabajador) for the step-by-step.
Grouped payment
The Cobrar mesa button charges all the table's open orders in a single operation:
- A single invoice with a unique sequence number.
- A single discount / tip / coupon applied to the total.
- A single payment method.
Who uses this module
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Dueño | Everything — create / edit / delete tables, open tabs, transfer, charge. |
| Administrador | Everything (same as Dueño). |
| Trabajador | Everything (same). Day-to-day floor management belongs to the worker. |
| Cliente | No access to tables — they only order online or in person at the table. |
