Cupones

DueñoAdministrador

Cupones are promotional codes your customers can apply at checkout — on the public menu or at the counter. Useful for campaigns, welcomes, winning back customers who haven't visited in a while.

Typical examples

  • BIENVENIDA — 20% off the first order.
  • VERANO2026 — $5.000 off for seasonal campaigns.
  • MARTES15 — 15% off only on Tuesdays (you manually turn it on / off).

Go to Cupones

From the sidebar, Cupones. The module has two tabs:

  • Panel — how your coupons are being redeemed.
  • Cupones — the list and creation.

Panel: how your coupons are redeemed

This is the tab that opens when you enter. At the top you choose the period (7d, 30d, 90d, Todo or a custom range between two dates) and below you see:

  • Indicators — redemptions, discount granted, revenue with coupon, average ticket and what percentage of sales used a coupon.
  • Canjes por día — the bar chart for the chosen period.
  • Método de pago — how each sale with a coupon was paid.
  • Cupones más usados — bar ranking of each code, sorted by the metric you choose (redemptions, discount or revenue). Hover over a row to see redemptions, discount, revenue and average ticket. Coupons you have already deleted from the catalog are marked with an Eliminado label and show their reconstructed discount.

Cupones: the list and creation

In the Cupones tab you have:

  • Search by code or description.
  • Filters: Todos / Activos / Inactivos / Expirados.
  • List with each coupon and its actions.
  • The Nuevo cupón button.
  • Ver detalle (eye icon) on each row: opens a popup with the coupon's sheet (description, minimum purchase, maximum uses, expiration and creation) and, if it already has redemptions, its lifetime usage metrics (redemptions, discount granted, revenue with coupon and average ticket).

Create a coupon

In the Cupones tab, Nuevo cupón button.

FieldRequiredNotes
CódigoYesE.g. VERANO20. Letters, numbers and hyphens. Converted to uppercase.
Descripción—Internal text (the customer doesn't see it). E.g. "Campaña de bienvenida verano".
Tipo de descuentoYesPorcentaje or Monto fijo.
ValorYesThe number. If the type is percentage, it goes from 1 to 100. If fixed amount, it is the value in pesos.
Compra mínima—If you want to require a minimum subtotal (e.g. only valid on orders of $30.000+).
Máximo de usos—Empty = unlimited. If you set 100, the coupon stops applying at use 101.
Vence el—Empty = doesn't expire. If you set a date, it stops applying after that date.

When saved, the coupon is active by default.

How a coupon is applied

The customer or the cashier types the code at checkout. The system validates it:

  1. Does it exist and is it active?
  2. Has it not expired?
  3. Has it not reached the usage limit?
  4. Does the order meet the minimum purchase?

If everything is OK, the discount is calculated on the subtotal:

  • Percentage — subtotal × percentage ÷ 100.
  • Fixed amount — the exact value, but capped at the subtotal (it doesn't produce a negative total).

Edit a coupon

Editar button on the row. You can change any field (code, value, date, limit).

Changes and already-paid orders

Editing a coupon does not affect orders previously paid with that coupon — the invoices keep the original discount. It only affects upcoming sales.

Activate / deactivate

The toggle on the row lets you pause a coupon without deleting it. Useful for promotions that are only active on certain days.

  • Activo — the coupon works.
  • Inactivo — the coupon doesn't work but stays saved. You can reactivate it whenever you want.

Delete a coupon

Trash can button → you confirm → it is deleted.

Old orders are not affected

Orders that were already paid with that coupon stay intact. The customer's invoice still shows the discount that was applied.

Visual states

Each coupon in the list shows labels:

  • Inactivo (gray) — manually deactivated.
  • Expirado (red) — the expiration date has passed.
  • Agotado (yellow) — reached the maximum number of uses.

A coupon with no label = active and functional.

Strategies

Welcome coupon

  • Easy code: BIENVENIDA or HOLA20.
  • Type: % (e.g. 20%).
  • No minimum purchase, no usage limit, no expiration.
  • You share it on your pinned Instagram post, on flyers, etc.

Seasonal coupon

  • Code related to the campaign: NAVIDAD2026, BLACKFRIDAY.
  • Type: % or fixed $.
  • Optional minimum purchase (to protect margin).
  • With an expiration date — it ends with the campaign.

Trial coupon for an influencer

  • Unique code: MARIAFOOD15.
  • Type: % (e.g. 15%).
  • High Máximo de usos (e.g. 200) — to see how many new customers it brought you.
  • No expiration or a distant date.

Win-back coupon

  • Code: VOLVE10 or similar.
  • Type: small % (e.g. 10%).
  • You send it by email / WhatsApp to customers who haven't bought in 3 months.
  • Optional minimum purchase, expiration at 30 days.

What happens if…?

…the customer says the coupon doesn't work

Ask them for the exact code and check:

  • That the code exists and is Activo.
  • That it has not expired.
  • That it has not reached the maximum uses.
  • That their order meets the minimum purchase.

If everything is fine and it still doesn't work, contact Nexta support.

…I want to give a discount without a code

For one-off discounts without a code, use the Descuento manual field when charging in the POS. You apply % or fixed $ on the spot, without creating a coupon.

…I want to offer "buy 2 get 3" or "2x1"

Today coupons are only % or fixed $ on the total. Combo / quantity promotions are not available yet — they are on the roadmap.

…I want the coupon to apply only to certain products

Today it applies to the whole cart. Restriction by category / product is planned for upcoming versions.

…the customer wants to apply two coupons together

It can't be done — an order takes a single coupon. If you want to combine them, create a new one that adds up both effects.
